Process of turning leaves and seeds into jewelry. The process starts with the a dehydration of leaves and seeds, in which water is removed by sublimation, preventing the proliferation of bacteria and consequent decomposition of the materials. Next, the leaves and seeds are prepared to received a layer of gold or OMK (a metallic compound based on platinum, palladium, tin and copper with superior characteristics to silver)
Leather has always been considered a high quality product and fashionables. But the increased ecological awareness combined with the production of leather products created the Ecological Leather.
The Ecological Leather comes from the latex extracted from rubber trees of the Amazon. It all starts with getting the latex from the three. Next they filter it and “cook” it for about 2 hours. The product is places in a cotton sheet and wrapped around a cylinder. This process produces a “blanket” of ecological leather that can be dyed in any color.
- Açaí: Acai is a species of palm tree. Its fruit contains possible antioxidant activity. Two crops of fruit are produced each year. The fruits can be harvested and consumed. The seed makes up about 80% of the fruit.
- Buriti: Buriti is also a palm tree and its scientific name is Mauritia flexuosa. It grows in and near swamps and other wet areas in tropical South America. The Buriti fruit is edible, has a high vitamin C content. An oil high in vitamin A is extracted from the pulp and is frequently used to treat burns because of its soothing qualities.
- Paxiúba/Paxiubão: Paxiúba is the popular name of a palm tree found in Central and South America, in Brazil we can find this pal tree in the Amazon State. Its fruit has an round shape with yeallowish-green color when ripe.
